There’s little doubt that Intersec is the place to be for those in the security and safety industry. It’s an excellent business platform and a fantastic opportunity to network and build those all important bridges of communication. The Intersec exhibition has grown exponentially in its 15 year history, with the 2014 exhibition in Dubai later this month set to be the best attended yet. But with over 1100 exhibitors where do you start?

Here are a few key tips we have for making the most of the Intersec 2014 exhibition.

• Register online to avoid queuing at the event. Not only will this save you a great deal of time on the day, but it will also give you a feel for what is available and the sheer size of the exhibition, allowing you to plan in advance.
• Do your research beforehand and make a priority list of exhibitors you find particularly interesting. This will allow you to coordinate your time at Intersec and maximise any potential business opportunities.
• You should also set up meetings prior to the event. Get in touch with colleagues and fellow exhibitors beforehand and plan out your days so that you can meet with people at times that best suit you. Otherwise you may find yourself short on time or missing opportunities.
• Business cards. Make you take plenty along with you! Intersec is a fantastic place to meet and greet, and you’ll no doubt be doing a lot of it. Be sure to have a pocket full of business cards so that you can easily pass on your details.
• Finally, we recommend that you take notes during your time at Intersec. This will keep things fresh in your mind and will allow you to quickly follow up any promising contacts after the exhibition.
