Oh yes, November is upon us and it’s almost time for the Global MSC conference again. This year, the event is shaping up into becoming the most informative since the conference began, with high profile speakers and a varied programme to look forward to.

The day begins with opening keynote speaker Mark Bates, National Police Chiefs’ Council, lead for the development of CCTV in Policing. Other speakers include, Andy Marsh, Chief Constable, Hampshire Constabulary, Tony Porter; Surveillance Camera Commissioner, Emma Carr; Big Brother Watch, and Dr Tim Brain, Former Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary. They will all be taking to the stage independently, followed by a Q&A panel discussion surrounding the various aspects that security and technology play from an operational and legal point of view.

Part of the day will focus on Body Worn Video and Drones, with Simon Hall, MD of Heli-Media looking at A helicopter view of technology for security, the use of airborne assets for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance ISR, and Re-inventing the Police Box for the digital era, using technology to improve Business Productivity in security.

Met Police, Strategic Firearms Commander, Ian Hackett will be talking about the use of Body Worn Video in Armed Policing and the tactical use of Body Worn Video Cameras in firearms incidents.

Drawing on the academic research, Professor William Webster from the University of Stirling will inform the audience about the rise of SMART CCTV Technology, and also Bristol City Council and a former Avon and Somerset Constabulary Detective Chief Inspector talks to us about Intelligence and the deployment and operation of ANPR technology around the city for both journey times and police intelligence purposes.
