icomply are back in the office after a brilliant four days at IFSEC, 14th to 17th May. You may remember from our previous blog post (top tips for IFSEC) that Charlotte, our online marketing exec, was an IFSEC beginner. So what did she think of the event?
“IFSEC was just so exciting! I got to see the whole spectrum of the security industry first-hand, from the industry giants such as Honeywell and Norbain SD to relatively new companies like CheckMySystems. I spent a lot of time visiting icomply’s favourite exhibitors and meeting ‘the people behind the tweets’.
Taking my video camera and tripod everywhere resulted in some really interesting interviews. The question ‘What impact will the recession have on the security industry’ provided some very interesting answers from our interviewees, so stay tuned for this video.
My highlight was probably the PSIM conference on Wednesday. We had four really interesting speakers who took the audience through the whole process of PSIM. This was very relevant to icomply because integration with different security applications is key to our CCTV software.
I also liked the creativeness of some of the stands. The model village with (disproportionally big) CCTV cameras gave a great visual to the Panasonic visitors, and the Lego castle at CNB Technology was really fun as well.”
And what did the rest of the team get up to whilst Charlotte was busy being a roving reporter? We had a catch up with our integrators like Veracity and Milestone. After IFSEC, we’re looking forward to working with SALTO, EyeVis and Gallagher Security in the near future. And we did some socialising in the evening (of course): dinner with Tavcom Training and Thinking Space!
The four days of IFSEC were a complete whirlwind, but you could say that the hard work begins now. The aftermath of IFSEC is all about chasing up leads, scheduling meetings with new partners and trying to remember the name of that bloke who you met at the bar! We had a fantastic time. See you in June for IFSEC South Africa 2012!
We will be publishing our video interviews and blogs about IFSEC during the next few weeks. Follow us on Twitter @i_comply or sign up to our newsletter to keep in touch with our coverage.
